The gem of Glendale, Arizona! The Desert Diamond Arena is a modern multi-purpose entertainment facility located in Glendale, Arizona and owned by the City of Glendale! For concert and public events, the Desert Diamond Arena holds 19,000 people, in a range of different seats including 87 luxury suites and 3,075 club seats.

It’s a focal point of the Westgate Entertainment District, a billion dollar development situated about 12.5 miles northwest of downtown Phoenix. Opened in 2003, the arena has undergone several changes of name. It was originally known as the Glendale Arena, and provided a new home for the Phoenix Coyotes ice hockey team. Its name changed to Gila River Arena in 2014, until 2022 when it was renamed the Desert Diamond Arena.

The first year of operation here saw concerts starring Bette Midler, Rod Stewart, Prince, Kenny Chesney, Britney Spears, Toby Keith and Usher. Earning the title of “the best new major concert venue in North America” by the Pollstar Concert Industry Awards in 2003, the arena has seen a huge number of sell-out shows and major artists, including: U2, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, Nickelback, Bon Jovi, Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Kenny Chesney, Motley Crue, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, the Eagles, Aerosmith with Lenny Kravitz, Christina Aguilera, John Mayer, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Marc Anthony, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill!

The Arena has become affiliated with the Desert Diamond Casinos and Entertainment business, which is owned by the Tohono O'odham Nation. This allows all of Glendale’s leisure and entertainment facilities to be collected together in the Westgate Entertainment District. Desert Diamond Arena was purpose-built for indoor sports and entertainment, and features all the amenities you’d expect when attending a major event. It has an intimate seating bowl set into the ground to keep things at pedestrian level. Two main seating levels each have open concourses and provide great views for all types of event. Stages can be set centrally or at one end of the arena.

Wherever you are in the south west states, the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale is a great place to find outstanding events. Upcoming in 2023 are shows starring Zach Bryan, Kevin Gates, Drake, The 1975, Christian Nodal, RBD and many more. You can also see wrestling at the WWE Friday Night Smackdown, boxing, monster trucks, rodeo and traveling shows.
